Tyler Barnes Omega Founder’s Scholars

Dearest Family, Friends, and Community Supporters,

I am Tyler Jordan Barnes, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kelvin L. Barnes, and I am a participating in the Omega Founders’ Scholars Program sponsored by the Rocky Mount Alumni Chapter, Alpha Omicron of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity, Incorporated.

The program is premised on the principles of “Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift” by selecting young men in their junior or senior of high school to assist with scholarship fundraising to help offset expenses for their college education, The young men participate and receive mentoring in “Dress for Success, Proper Etiquette, Time Management, Leadership Skills, and Public Speaking”. The program allows young men like myself to participate in events, all while receiving life-long lessons on how to become a gentleman. Its purpose is to inspire and encourage young men to further their education.

I am currently a senior at Greenfield School in Wilson, NC with a 4.2 GPA, and will attend Roanoke College in Virginia in the fall of 2024 upon graduation from high school. I will major in pre-physical therapy, and will be playing Division III college basketball. Go Maroons!!! These donations toward college will help me pursue my academic and athletic dreams! 

I am soliciting your support as I participate in the Omega Scholars Program. Your tax-deductible donation will be a contribution to my college education and positive investment in my future. In addition, I would love for you to grace me with your presence at the Omega Founders’ Scholarship Program in April 2024. Can I count on your support to help with at least a $25.00 contribution.
