Tyler Byers with finanical struggles due to Cancer
Donation protected
UPDATE: August 30, 2023:
My nephew Tyler's PET Scan a few days ago revealed that he still has two locations in his throat and tonsils where there MAY still be Lymphoma. A biopsy is scheduled, and if it turns out positive, he will have to undergo a bone marrow transplant after more chemotherapy. It would require more than six months of recovery time, let alone the time it will take to get to the recovery period.
If you are inclined to contribute, now would be a good time as we have not collected more than 5% of our goal, and now that MAY have to change given the potential for another long period with no income at all. There are two options for donation:
Option one is to donate through the GoFundMe link here: https://gofund.me/0ea3ad6e
Option two is to call me at my Fort Worth number 817, nine, nine, 2 x 3, and again, then O, and finally 2 x 3. I'll provide information for ZELLE'ing funds to our account to collect the donations. I wasn't aware that GoFundMe charged the donor anything at all, and then I discovered that in addition to the fee we pay for the donation at 2.99% plus 25¢, they are charging a rather hefty fee at the time of the donation. If you are uncomfortable donating directly, I understand and suggest you use the GoFundMe system. I'm looking for a less expensive way for people to donate; however, GoFundMe is entitled to a profit, which could be too much.
If you are not able to donate, we understand fully. The economy has drained every one of a large portion of their disposable income. We would, however, still hope you will pray for Tyler, as that is a very powerful way to help and affordable. Thank you, and my God bless everyone.
ORIGINAL STORY: My 34-year-old nephew Tyler was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma in January 2023. He has been undergoing Chemotherapy for almost six months now but has run out of his FMLA, which only provided 60% of his income before he had to quit working. So, as his expenses were increasing, his income was dramatically reduced, and now he has run out of the FMLA entirely. He has run through his savings and is about to be utterly dependent upon the good nature of people willing to contribute to this GoFundMe campaign and what's left of funds from family members.
We estimate that additional monies he'll need to replace what he has lost in income and gone through from his savings, coupled with what he will be missing until his treatments and rehab are finished, is close to $40 grand.
