Help Tyler Compete for the Ice Climbing World Cup

Seven years ago, Tyler Kempney started his Ice Climbing journey, not knowing it would open doors to incredible domestic and international opportunities.

Tyler is a world-class ice and mixed climber from Carthage, NY, currently residing in Denver, CO. Since 2018/19, he’s been honored to represent the USA in the World Cup of Ice Climbing. Tyler is the First American to win a European Cup (2 back to back championships) and is the highest-placed American climber in the history of the Ice Climbing World Cup Championships.

This past winter was the best of Tyler’s career.

- 1st place in 2 domestic competitions in the USA

- Gold at 2 European Cups back to back

- Won the world-famous Ouray Elite Mixed Climbing Competition in Ouray, CO.

After the World Championships, Tyler took the bronze medal in the North American Championships to finish the year with 5 golds, and 6 podium finishes out of 7 competitions.

Back in 2019, Tyler opened the Ice Coop, the first gym specifically dedicated to dry tooling in North America. He has coached and trained with most USA Ice Climbing team members through the Ice Coop and taught clinics for all skill levels. Since then, the USA team has had its highest performances at the World Cup level, further developing the sport across the U.S.

As Tyler is an integral part of the USA Ice Climbing Team, the finances are in the hands of the competitor. International flights, accommodations, equipment and other competition fees are expected to cost ~$8000.
