Help our beloved Tyler recover!

Hi! My name is Margie Coats and I am fundraising to help my nephew and his parents with his medical expenses now and into the future.
On October 17th, 2022, my 35-year-old nephew, Tyler Yager, was admitted to Columbia Greene Hospital in critical condition with acute liver failure and sepsis, an infection of nearly every system in his body. From there, with his life at stake, Tyler was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where he underwent multiple surgeries on his stomach and gastrointestinal tract. Two months later, Tyler remains in intensive care but he’s shown improvement, able to breathe on his own and walk a few steps.
For our family, this came as shock. It’s rare for anyone as young as Tyler to have liver failure and we’re still trying to figure out exactly what went wrong. Tyler is a kind, fun-loving, and caring person who has always seen and acted on ways to help others. While living in New Orleans a few years back, Tyler witnessed a car crash into a lake, jumped in, and saved a person’s life. That’s the kind of person Tyler is and the person who we are trying to save.
Tyler is alive and that is a miracle but he has a long road to recovery and his life will never be the same. For Tyler’s parents, my sister Holly, and brother-in-law, Steve, this has been the most difficult time of their lives. In addition to the emotional toll it’s taken on them, they’re facing astronomical medical costs both now and looking forward to what will be a long recovery for Tyler. Hoping to ease some of their financial burden, our family has launched this GoFundMe for Holly, Steve, and Tyler. I’ve known Tyler since he was a bump in his mom’s belly and it breaks my heart to see such a vibrant young man cut down with a condition well beyond his age. Any help you can give will make a difference and ensure that Tyler and his parents can focus on his recovery. Thank you.
