Tyler M. Zimmerman, at age 31, passed away at his residence in Greenville, TN on March 14th, 2019.

As a witness to his amazing character, his enlightening sense of humor, and his genuine enthusiasm for even the smallest treasures in life, his positive impact in so many lives has given all of us something to truly be grateful for. Undoubtedly, this world has been made a better place for all, through the amazing life and legacy Tyler has lived.
On behalf of all of those who loved Tyler, we as group of close friends decided to setup this fundraising campaign to support the one thing that Tyler valued the most, his wife and children.

He met his wife, Jamie, in college where they both attended The University of Tennessee. Tyler was amazingly brilliant-minded, gifted with so much charisma that he could have easily pursued an acting career, but his natural intellect and passion for a good challenge led him to pursue a degree in engineering. While in school, Tyler and Jamie quickly fell deep in love. A few years later, they were married and later blessed by having two beautiful baby boys. From the very beginning, Tyler and Jamie’s life together was truly the epitome of real love, built on a solid foundation of faith and embellished with effortless acts of grace. His family and friendships are a reflection of the incredible influence he has had on those around him. Tyler’s positive impact on the lives of so many people is immeasurable. As somebody once told me, If you didn’t have a smile on your face when you met Tyler, he always made sure you were smiling when you left. In his own loving way, Tyler naturally became an icon of sorts. To many of his friends and colleagues, he graciously embodied all of the wonderful traits that we all wish we had. Not only did he treat everyone like they were his best friend, but he was undoubtedly THE best friend and companion many of us will ever have! Among the countless number of remarkable accomplishments he has made, he would claim without hesitation that his greatest achievements in life were marrying his wife, Jamie, and having two wonderful children. It is with this amazing legacy in mind, and the unfortunate events that have occurred, that we send our deepest sympathies, prayers, and support to the Zimmerman family in this time of mourning.

With a grateful heart for having Tyler in our lives, and remorse for the tragic situation that has occurred, we would like to encourage everyone to donate, large or small, to help keep Tyler’s legacy alive by supporting his wonderful family during this difficult time. Going forward Jamie and the boys will need more help than money alone can provide, but in such times as these, one of the easiest ways many of us can show support is to donate. Although money will never ease the pain of loosing such a great husband and friend, may it provide at least some of the support that they will need during this unfortunate time.

- For a rough breakdown of our target goal amount, we have estimated $8,000 for the funeral expenses. According to the National Funeral Directors Association (2012), a traditional funeral costs just under $8,000 and this does not include any cemetery fees. So the total average cost for a funeral is nearer to $10,000 – $15,000.
- Jamie and the boys will be relocating from their residence in Greeneville, TN to the city of Nashville,TN. According to the American Moving & Storage Association, the average cost of an intrastate move is $1,170. We have assigned a goal of $1,000 for this expense.
- Most importantly are the kids (and I know Tyler would agree with that). Jamie will undoubtedly need assistance with child care throughout the next few years. According to an article published in the Nashville Tennessean in June 2018,
“Tennessee ranks among the sixth highest states for child care as a percentage of household income, according to a 2016 New America Care Report. Tennessee families pay $7,406 on average for child care at a center and if they hire a nanny, the average cost nearly quadruples to $27,438 annually”.
It is difficult to put a goal value to this as childcare costs can be unpredictable, but the significance of this costs to Jamie and the boys will absolutely be a major factor. We have (very) conservatively assigned a goal of $16,000.

Help us honor the man who was everybody’s best friend, Tyler Zimmerman, and pay tribute to the incredible life he has lived, by helping support the thing he valued most, his family. Any donation, large or small, will help Tyler’s wife and children transition into the next stage of their lives. Remember, the difference between reaching our goal and not reaching out goal is only $1! So all contributions, no matter the size, will help!
Thank you!
