Tyler's Eagle Scout Project for Cornwall Elementary School

I am Tyler Szajda, an aspiring Eagle Scout working on my project. These funds will help with the construction of a Gaga ball pit at Cornwall elementary school, between the blacktop and the soccer goal. Cornwall Elementary School has a special spot in my heart because I attended Cornwall as a student. I have fond memories playing on the playground during recess and even outside of school hours. The Gaga Pit will enhance the school community and provide additional options for the students. Note: The above picture is very similar to the pit I will be building. I plan to use structural composite boards for the build. Although the materials will be initially more expensive, the structural composite boards are virtually free from warping, twisting, splintering and rotting. This recycled plastic product is safer around children compared to treated wood, and since it’s not wood, the Gaga ball pit will be enjoyed for many years to come. If fully funded, I will also be able to add an ADA accessible door, so all students would be able to enjoy the new playground addition.
