Tyler's Medivac

Update: Ty arrived at Mass General around 4 am this morning. He has a team evaluating him. I'm waiting for an update from his Mom and will post when I get it. The family is grateful for all the love, support, prayers and generosity.

Hi! My name is Jackie Booth and my family needs your help. My nephew..Ty Parish needs a medivac to Boston to save his life. He's my sister Dianne's youngest son....Ty was diagnosed with SMA...spinal muscular atrophy at about 1 and 1/2. His parents were told he'd have a very short life expectancy. He's now 43! He's an extraordinary young man who has never complained a day in his life. He's an accomplished artist and entrepeneur.

This past week Ty's breathing became more difficult and he was admitted to a Florida hospital where he suffered acute pulmonary failure. He had an emergency procedure to put him on a ventilator, He now needs a specialized tracheotomy which cannot be performed where he is. . He needs to be airlifted to Boston...

My sister has reached out to Muscular Dystrophy Association as insurance will not pay for this.

Anything you can do to help defray the cost is gratefully appreciated.

FYI there are numerous other expenses associated with this trip that the family is pitching in for.

At the moment a bed in Boston is confirmed.....hopefully Ty will be able to transfer tomorrow. I'm in the process of securing the medivac.....

We've increased the goal because there are untold expenses appearing by the moment.
