Loving Father: Jesus Antonio Salazar

Hello Everyone,

My name is Daniel, the youngest son of Jesus Antonio Salazar. I am starting this fundraiser for the funeral of my father, who passed away due to a heart attack on Thursday, October 13th, 2022.

My father was the most respectful, hardworking, selfless and caring man I ever knew. Growing up in Colombia, my father had limited access to English education and suffered through various challenges with the corruption in Colombia. My father gave up his career, family and friends from his hometown in Medellín, Colombia, for a better life for us in Canada. As first-generation immigrants, we arrived in Canada with very little. Despite these challenges, my father never gave up on us. He worked two labour jobs when we arrived in Canada and often worked overtime, weekends and holidays just to make ends meet. His actions and qualities influenced me to be the confident, resilient, generous and responsible young man I am today.

The sudden loss of my father was unprecedented and caused severe emotional damage and financial consequences for my entire family. He was the backbone and breadwinner of our family, and unfortunately, we do not have the funds needed to send my father off with love and grace.

All the funds raised will go directly to my father's funeral costs and essential living costs to get by during this difficult time.
