Housing or Tympanoplasty for struggling mom

Donation protected
My name is Julie.
To summarize a TL;DR, I am a single mother of one 5 year old girl. I’m struggling to find work, and I have a ruptured ear drum which had become infected. The rupture resulted from a very bad flu, and has resulted in tinnitus, ear pain, hearing loss, and ear drum scarring. The ER has advised me to get medical attention for it ASAP, as it could result in permanent hearing loss, however I still don’t have work. Medicaid continues to deny me. Care credit denies me. Free clinics don’t offer specialized surgical care.

Please, I need help preventing a hearing disability.
I’m all my daughter has.

I went homeless with my 12 month old daughter in late 2018 following the spousal and parental abandonment of my ex husband for his third affair in a three year period.

In early 2019, I had a small ear drum rupture which I was unable to seek medical attention for.

I began a remote service based business with my 1 year old at my side, and over the course of the next 8 months, worked hard to build it up to a place that could support a cost of housing. We moved into our own apartment Sept 2019 with no vehicle.

Mid 2020, my business was becoming unsustainable. My client continued to pile a workload on me I could non manage alongside a small child, and I was working throughout the day and late into the night. Out of a need for a support system and to ensure we didn’t return to homelessness, I got into a fast paced relationship. This turned out to be one of my worst decisions, as he had turned violent March 2021. With my business long closed and unable to reattempt it due to a bad industry and a child that was now too old to manage alongside that work, I had no means to make this person leave our home that he now paid for, nor to leave him myself.

I looked for a place to go for the next 9 months, all the while Tx law enforcement did nothing to help. I was offered someplace to stay in Dec 2021, and I sold all our personal belongings so that we’d have the money to live off of, took whatever we could put in the “family” vehicle (my daily driver through the marriage) and we fled the state. We fled to the east coast, then back to north central US, before attempting to settle in Feb 2021. I had just began starting delivery work while looking to get childcare and a full time job when he stalked us to KS and arrived where we were staying. He admitted to cops he’d not taken his own daily driver up, but rather an 18 hour train with the intent to take the vehicle. Against the warnings of police, he took the vehicle and my belongings (including my work PC) back across state lines, and charges were filed. He attempted to dodge felony charges my returning some of the possessions, but not before vandalizing my work PC - it was returned in pieces, with clear indication he’d pried the casing open, removed the hard drive, tore open the front paneling, and cracked the tower casing, rendering the system inoperable. I began legal process to obtain a protection order, which he hired a lawyer to fight before forfeiting and pleading no contest to in order to prevent my testimony from being heard. The order was granted July 2021. He continued to commit administrative abuse, hiring a lawyer at thousands of dollars in order to endlessly dispute his bills with a single homeless mother (his bills following the date of our separation) of $85 and $75 and $380 that he refused to pay. If I had a lawyer, it would have cost me thousands in legal fees just to respond to his constant legal badgering, but this also left me unable to enforce the legal equitable division of debts, therefore leaving me in debt. His lawyer stonewalled any contact from the date of the hearing and refused to mediate the surrender of my other property to me he kept, which was ordered of him in the final decree, but because I have no lawyer, I can’t enforce the decree. He simply refused to return it and stonewalled any contact.

In the meantime, the older couple who took us in back in 2019 put together a place for us to stay. During this time, my daughter’s paternal parental rights were terminated due to child support evasion and lack of contact.
Though I’ve attempted countless means to work in our situation - from in home daycare, to pet boarding - I was unable to sustain our needs. After lending us a means of transportation, I enrolled my daughter in public school in the attempt to find a job solely within school hours, but what resulted instead was my daughter getting very sick for 3 months straight. I would get sick caring for her also, and I hadn’t the means to seek medical treatment or antibiotics for the two respiratory infections that resulted. I lost my voice for nearly a month and a half. With having spent 3 months and every dollar on my medical attention and our sick supplies and medicine, our phone shut off and our utilities were due to shut off January 1st. A new friend covered those medical needs for myself, and my daughter had access to children’s Medicaid. Come Dec 2022, I withdrew my daughter from public school, but it was another 2 weeks after that before she were well. The resulting flu I got from her caused such immense sinus pressure that it ruptured my ear drum fully. This has resulted in hearing loss, tinnitus, and an infection. A month later, I used an otoscope to check on its healing, and have come to find there is immense scarring of the ear drum and a huge rupture. The rupture is trying and failing to heal shut, and keeps re rupturing. The scarring is something that cannot be repaired without surgery. I also found it has become infected, so I went to the ER just to get a prescription. The ER advised I need to address this ASAP or the hearing loss could become permanent.

I understand this, I always have, but the state of Texas denies me any Medicaid help, I still don’t have a means of working (still applying for something remote, as my daughter is still with me) and care credit denies me.
Any free clinic would not handle specialist surgical care, such as Tympanoplasty to repair and restore the eardrum.

According to Google, it typically costs between $4,483 and $6,000 for this surgery.

I need help seeking medical treatment to prevent permanent hearing loss.

Please, it’s been difficult enough the past 5 years just trying to start over homeless with a 12 month old - with no vehicle, job, savings, family, relatives, or support network.

I am all my daughter has.
Please, I need help preventing a hearing disability. My daughter needs me.

Five years after the fact, we’re still fighting for shelter and a means of living.

It is very difficult to “nutshell” the events of what we’ve been through the past 5 years. I’m more than happy to publicly answer any questions.
