Help Tymur Attend College
Hello!

I’d like to introduce you all to a wonderful young man, Tymur Minzianov, who is struggling with unfortunate circumstances. Tymur was born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine with his parents and 2 younger siblings. In the fall of 2021, Tymur came to the US for a short term exchange to play hockey for one season. Unfortunately, Russia invaded Ukraine shortly before he was scheduled to return home. Separated from his family, Tymur did his best to find a way forward. He moved to Colorado to work as a youth hockey coach and during his time as a coach he ruptured his Achilles tendon. However, he didn’t let either of these major setbacks stop him from trying to move his life forward!

Tymur moved in with Adam and I in the fall of 2022 and began his junior year of high school at Monarch High School. Despite inconsistent living situations the prior year, war tearing through his home country, being separated from his family and friends and a traumatic injury, we have watched him grow into a caring, mature and motivated young man. He managed recover from his Achilles tear and bounce back to playing on the Varsity hockey team this year. He graduated from the ESL program after only 1 year and is now taking 2 AP classes! He has excelled in school and has worked hard on college applications all fall. And most importantly, is a kind and joyful person to be around that wins the heart of almost everyone he meets.

Tymur has aspirations of working in healthcare - his top two job desires at the moment are either nursing or physical therapy. He wants to have a job where he can help care for people around him. However, his family has been displaced (they are safe and out of Ukraine) for well over a year and do not have the funds to pay for college tuition. In addition, because he isn’t a permanent resident in the US he doesn’t qualify for federal student aid. He has put a lot of effort into his academics and college applications and we are really hoping to see him succeed! To help him, we are trying to raise funds to help him be able to afford to further his education. Please consider a donation if you are able, every penny gets him closer to his goal!

Thank you!!
