GREAT TAX WRITE OFF

Dear Family and Friends,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As a dedicated member of our community, I am reaching out to seek your support for a cause very close to my heart.

Our beloved church dining hall/community center, a treasured building that has been used for a couple centuries, is in dire need of restoration. This historic landmark has served as a gathering place for generations, hosting countless joyful celebrations, community events, and sharing meals that nourish not only our bodies but also our spirits.

In 1879, the descendants who were the first settlers were freed slaves and they came here looking for a place to start new lives and to raise their families. Now their descendants are scattered throughout the USA and most of the land our forefathers purchased is still in the families. In 1901, A.J. and Emma Tynes donated the land for $1 which was adjacent to a school in which they used to worship. During this time, they had 8 members and decided to name the church Tynes Chapel. In 1931 God smiled on Tynes Chapel and they came to an agreement to begin the construction of Tynes Chapel. The supplies were donated from various ones in the community in which it took them 10 years to complete…. Descendants: Tynes, Ferguson, Seas, Saunders, Charlton and Hogan……….

Over time, the wear and tear have taken their toll, leaving us with urgent repairs and upgrades that we simply cannot afford on our own. We have successfully replaced the aging roof, installed some installation, and improved the electrical wiring. However, there is still much work to be done.

To transform this space into a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for future generations, we need your help. We are seeking donations to address several critical areas:

1. Lighting and ceiling fans - Will enhance energy efficiency and ensure the safety of all who use this space without central air conditioning.

2. Structural Repairs - Some of the floor needs to be braced and some replaced to restore stability.

3. Windows, Siding and paint - Installing new windows, upgrading the siding and painting will not only improve the aesthetics but also enhance natural lighting, making the dining hall more inviting for community gatherings.

4. Bathroom Installation - Currently, we lack essential restroom facilities. The addition of a bathroom will greatly improve the functionality and accessibility of the space.

5. Heating System - We desperately need to replace the outdated furnace to provide a warm and comfortable environment during the colder months.

6. Deck Replacement - The front deck now requires replacement to ensure the safety of our visitors and in need of handicap assessment within the American with Disability Act..

7. New Appliances - Updating kitchen appliances will enable us to serve meals efficiently and meet the needs of our growing community.

By contributing to our campaign, you not only help us preserve our historic heritage but also support a vital community center that benefits our neighbors, young and old. Your generous donation will make a real and lasting difference, transforming this space into a fellowship hall of connection, celebration, and shared experiences. (Rather your donation is financially or labor)

Furthermore, your contribution is eligible for tax deductions, allowing you to maximize the impact of your donation while enjoying these benefits.
