Typhoon Merdok Relief for Golovin, AK
Donation protected
Updated: Thank you for taking the time, and I hope you consider helping out a beautiful indigenous community in northwest Alaska, Golovin. I taught here for two years and am still close with many of my former students and their families. The funds will be disbursed as soon as possible to the leaders and elders to distribute as they see fit and where it is most needed. Since it is a fly-in-only village, some will be Amazon gift cards, and some will be cash donations to meet the need for supplies including, but not limited to, water, nonperishable food, clothing, cleanup supplies, toiletries, etc. Typhoon Merdok left a trail of destruction in this remote village. Power has been restored, but there is much work to be done. Several houses were lost, and families, including some teachers, were displaced. This community needs our help to rebuild. As a former teacher in this village, I am spearheading the effort to make sure this beautiful community that embraced me for two years can rebuild and continue its beautiful traditions with renewed hope. Please do what you can; anything helps, even sharing this with others to help spread the word. I spoke with a local who asked for help to maintain their lives and dignity. Please help in any way you can.
