Typhoon Rai - Sibonga Elementary School Rebuild

Hi, my name is Bill and I am raising funds to rebuild the Lindogon Elementary School is situated in Lindogon, Sibonga, Cebu Philippines. I live in Canada and am raising funds to help a friend who teaches at this school in the Philippines.

Typhoon Odette "Ria"international name devastated the southern part of Cebu, Philippines where the eye of typhoon hit "Sibonga" where the school is located. The school was severely damaged by the typhoon !!! Four classrooms had major damages, namely the kindergarten building , grade 2 classroom, grade 4 classroom

and computer room. All the roofing structures were blown away leaving all the computer sets, TVs, printers, books, modules and other things wet and damaged. The school has 232 pupils and 8 teachers including my friend Marlene, who have all also had their homes affected by the typhoon. They cannot rebuild the school without financial support and unlike in North America, the infrastructure does not exist for virtual learning. They have estimated between $1500 and $2000 Canadian dollars to complete the repairs, if any amounts become excess they will be used for other school programs. I have sponsored activities at this school before and have always seen the funds used for their intended purpose. Local government funding is not likely to occur in the foreseeable future. I hope you will join me in assisting them in getting these children back in school and learning .
