Ty's Journey to Perfect Skate Sharpening

Hey, I'm Ty, the skate sharpening guy.

I come from a construction background where I've worked with my hands and tools for 15+ years. I've built many things using many different tools. I've adapted and grown proficient in being able to use new tools I've accumulated over the years.

Over the past year and a half, I've worked hard and built up my skill in skate sharpening. I've found that there is a need in my community for someone that is diligent and trusting when it comes to sharpening their hockey/figure skates.

I've continuously studied the art and science behind skate sharpening. I've grown to be able to suggest many different things from hollows to profiles (contours) for people's skates. I've learned about the equipment that make people comfortable and agile on the ice.

Without a good hollow and contour to the skate blade, a skater will be overexerting themselves, damaging their joints, and holding themselves back from reaching their full potential. I want customers to be able to trust that when they hit the ice, every time, it's the same feeling of comfort and performance.

In order for me to do this, I am looking for help from the community to fund the equipment for me to make things right. This will include a potable skate sharpener, a generator for running the sharpener wherever I might be, a skate holder, sharpening wheels, and honing stones.
