Tyson Wasser's Healing and Rehab Fund

On Saturday, April 30th, 2023, during a high school rugby match, Tyson suffered a massive stroke, caused by a blood clot in his neck. Initially, it was thought to be a heat stroke and fortunately, EMTs were present and saved his life. After spending 4 days in the ICU, he is now doing physical therapy at Kaiser’s Rehab Center in Vallejo California. Tyson is working very hard to regain full function of the left side of his body and get back to a normal life. Currently, the only movement on the left side of his body has been his left hip, but progress is being made. Tyson is attacking rehab like he attacked rugby... with 100% effort. Sadly, his insurance with Kaiser only allows for 21 days of rehab. Two weeks ago, Tyson was excited about playing college rugby next year. His needs have drastically changed. Now he’s in for the fight of his life. He just wants to regain function and attend college in the fall. Tyson is loved by his sweet family and friends. His Granite Bay Rugby brothers love and miss him. They’ve dedicated the rest of their season to Tyson. Tyson has a long road to recovery, and we are asking for your help. The family will have enormous out-of-pocket expenses extending his needed physical therapy and any modifications needed for their home. As Robert Paylor put it, “Tyson will need at minimum 90 days of physical therapy 5 days a week, not 21 days."
