TYSONS STORY
Tyson was born and raised in Coos Bay, OR. He is 6 years young. The day he blessed my life was just a typical day for me. I was driving around and saw a sign for "pure bred" staffordshire terrier puppies. I wasn't planning on leaving with one, but I couldn't help myself but to stop and play with them for a moment. That day, my life had changed in so many ways. I instantly fell in love with him. His eyes drew me in, and next thing I knew I was bringing him home. He was a chubby little pup, with massive paws. He was like a bulldozer with no breaks. and he just had the cutest little wrinkly face ever!Bad to the bone, he definitely wasn't. Tyson prefers peace and love to all living things. He prefers keep away over fetch, and mattresses to dog beds. Tyson is the kind of dog that knows innocence when he sees it. Children, puppies, kittens, he loves them all, and will protect them with his life. I can't name how many times I've broughten a rescue home to have him take it under his wing and play mommy. This is one of many cats, Tyson helped me keep alive and get healthy. This little guy was found abandoned before he was old enough to be weaned. Tyson's eyes lit up and he became his baby. This is normal for our house. All our cats hate dogs but love Tyson. You see, Tyson doesnt quite realize he's a dog. In fact, he thinks he's cat dog. He loves his kitties.
And our kitties love him.
This is Tyson with one of his good friends Jax. Jax may only be the size of Tys head, but Tyson doesn't discriminate. Tyson has a way about him, that makes it hard not to love. Whether it be by human, cat, or dog. His favorite thing to do, is cuddle.
Especially under blankets. He LOVES blankets and pillows.
He's slightly a goob. He enjoys weird acts that puts a smile on your face, and he's very talkative while doing so
His Second favorite thing is Sand. He loves to dig holes. He will dig for hours, and gets upset when you refill his nicely dug hole with more sand.
And everntually we have a hole so deep we can bury him in it! And he LOVED IT! He is a character. He is unique.
Tyson is my baby. When I found out he had gotten loose and was struck by a vehicle, I felt like my child had ran away and was hit. I was and still am devastated. I don't know how I'll get through in life without him. I always thought if I ever have kids, Tyson would be the best dog to grow them up around. I knew he'd protect them, because that's what Tyson does. I knew he'd keep them safe, and that made me feel good. Knowing my children would have him to look out for them when I wasn't around. I just want my baby back home. It's not the same without him and his antics here. So please help me help bring him home. So he can play in the sand and cuddle for more years to come.
Tyson is up to $1,600 in vet bills so far. He has a broken K-9 tooth, blood in his lungs, a broken pelvis and a compressed disc. He is on oxygen to help breathing due to the blood on lungs. More xrays were taken today, and we are waiting to hear if he'll need to see a specialist for spinal surgery. We need a miracle to bring our baby back home, and we are willing to do whatever it takes to keep him here with us. Any thing you can do to help is greatly appreciated. We'll take donations of any kind, and we've been discussing different ways to fundraise and raise the money for Tysons well being. I understand if you can't help. The least I'm asking for is a simple share to help spread Tysons story. I can't find a better service/companion animal than him, and I don't want to.
TYSONS RECOVERY
Unfortunately, I had to reset my phone to factory settings, so Tysons recovery pictures thus far have been lost. :( I will be gathering more, because he's just to darn cute not to share pictures of, and his fans/heroes deserve to see some light at the end of the tunnel.
We had another check up this month, and he is doing FABULOUS! (unfortunately were still neck deep in vet bills) He was recommended more excercise, and were pretty excited about it seeing as Tyson is a very high strung dog that needs his workouts. They also said due to the cement like substance in his back he needs to be kept extra warm, (He's pretty excited about that. Blankets, heaters, and more blankets! Ty couldn't be happier) as well as fish oil, which means bring on the sardines! His new favorite treat. I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has shared, donated, and just wished us the best and said prayers. We wouldn't be here today if it weren't for every single one of you kind souls. Tyson may never be 100% but, compared to what was and could have been he's pretty darn close. We are forever grateful to all of you. Please continue to share so we can reach our goal. Also, if anyone has any new ideas for fundraising our ears are open!
I think they like their new bed. (And blanket) Tyson has shown great progress. The cold months have made him a little more sore but he's adapting well.
This was taken within Tysons first few days of coming home. We weren't the only ones that missed him. ;) our kitties are happy to have their brother home.
Coming home after about 2 week's away. :)
Tysons 2nd day home. Yes, we watched all dogs go to heaven 2 together. Tyson loves cartoons. But he prefers America's funniest home video's. ;)
trying to act like he doesn't love the attention.
Thanks to all your prayers and support Tyson has recovered amazingly! Faster than predicted even. I'd love to set up a day for his followers to meet him this next summer. Maybe see him swim. We're so happy to have him home safe and well. I'd like to remind everyone accidents happen and to take extra precautions with our animal companions. No one wants to go through this with there canine family members.
