Our story is not over yet! About a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cirrhosis/failure and a leaking heart valve. Without 2 major operations, I will succumb to this horrible disease. After being told I am dying by U of Michigan and a local Hospital system in our area, we found the only hospital in the country who does the dual surgery and that is Cleveland
Clinic. We immediately started my long journey. Here I am a year and a half later still fighting! I was officially listed for my liver so now all we had to do was hope, pray and wait. Our prayers were answered a week ago and we found out I have a living donor and surgery is July 27th! As many of you know my mother and husband who are not only my backbones but also my caregivers and I commute from Local Metro Detroit area to Cleveland Clinic for appointments, sometimes keeping us in Cleveland for 4-7 days at a time and we have been doing this for well over a year now. It has taken a major impact on finances between lodging, food, medicine and gas and unfortunately the foundations are running out of assistance to help. Unfortunately though it is a requirement to stay local for 8-12 weeks in case of an emergency and we have financially ran dry with the year and a half of testing they have done. We come to everyone with hope, a will to survive and the determination to continue to fight so I can be here with my daughters and raise them into strong young ladies and give them the opportunity to have their mom around. We have tried so hard to do this without asking for help but unfortunately I am to a point where this is no longer an option and the insurance company has no funds allocated for after surgery. If you could find it in your heart to donate, to give me a fighting chance to beat this horrible disease I would be forever grateful. Please help get my story out there, have it heard and help us raise the money we need. Every dollar And prayer gets me that extra time near the hospital and another fighting chance!
