Ashley’s fight against lupus &fibromyalgia

Hello, my name is Ashley Rivera I am 29 years old and I suffer from lupus and fibromyalgia. For those who don’t know lupus is basically when your immune system attacks itself causing fatigue, chronic pain and at times damage to a certain organ. Fibromyalgia I describe as one of the worst things there is with symptoms ranging shooting pain to fatigue sometimes swelling of joints and hyper sensitivity on the skin. Both of which unfortunately have no cure.

A little about me, I have worked as a veterinary technician since 2014 and although I strongly believe it is my calling and what I love to do most in life, due to my health I have had to make the tough decision to stop caring for our four legged love ones to take care of myself. I was official diagnosed with lupus and fibromyalgia in 2021 after years of symptoms and being turned away from doctors because I was “too young to have anything like that going on” and since then it’s been an on going battle to find relief.

Recently fibromyalgia and lupus have gotten so bad that I’ve had to miss a lot of work because of it. There are flare up that last for weeks where I cannot move or get dressed due to swelling of the joints or hyperesthesia and fatigue. At times the sensitivity to my skin is too much for me to be able to even get dressed. Which has been making going to work very difficultly as and as a result paying for medical expenses and other bills have become nearly impossible. Currently I am seeking treatment for both of these illnesses however, my insurance does not cover majority of the necessary diagnostics, treatments and medications and doctor visits. The medical expenses and other bills keep piling up and I can’t work enough to keep up.

So I’m here hoping for some help from a few angels so that I can hopefully get the necessary funds to afford the tests, treatment and for the medications I need to feel better and eventually go back to doing what it is I’m meant to do which is taking care of our four legged loved ones and finally after years get some relief.
