Support Umang Dahal's Journey to Recovery

उमङ्गको नयाँ जीवनका लागि सहयोगको अपिल।

जन्मदै गर्दा सबैले आआफ्नो भाग्य लिएर आउछन्। कोहि अलि सुखमय भाग्य लिएर आउछन् त कोहि जीवनका आयामसँगै केहि उतरचढाव खेप्न वाध्य हुन्छन्। मानव जीवन माया र सहयोग बिना चल्नै सक्तैन। जहाँ सानो सहयोग गर्दा कसैले नयाँ जीवन पाउछ भने त्यहाँ योगदान गर्नु मानविय मूल्यमान्यताको अनुसरण गर्नु हो।

भाइ उमङ्ग दाहाल करिव तिन बर्षभन्दा बढि समयदेखि निराशा र विचलित जीवन बिताउन वाध्य छन्। त्यो पनि अमेरिका जस्तो देसमा। कल्पना गर्नोस त उनका बाबुआमाले कति ठूलो अपेक्षाका साथ उन्लाइ अमेरिका पठाउनु भए होला? यसक्रममा कति खर्च लागे होला? तर, छोरा अमेरिका आइसकेपछि मानसिकरुपमा विक्षिप्त भएको पाउदा उहाँहरुमा के वितिरहेको होला?

उमङ्ग नेपालमा छदा एक कुशल र परिश्रमी विद्यार्थी थिए। सेन्ट जेभिएर कलेजमा निकै राम्रो अंक ल्याएर प्लस टु पास गरेपछि उनी थप अध्ययनका लागि अमेरिका आएका थिए। सन २०१९ को कोभिडको माहामारीसँगै उनले काम गुमाए। अनि आर्थिक समस्या परे। त्यसपछि निराशले उनलाइ गाज्न थाल्यो र विचलित भए। लामो समयदेखि उनको खानपान र बस्ने ठाउँको टुङ्गो छैन।

उमङ्गको सहयोगका लागि हामीले धेरै प्रयास गर्यौ। उन्लाइ अस्पतालमा पनि भर्ना गर्यौ। तर, कुनै उपाय नलागेपछि नेपालकै डाक्टरको सल्लाह र सिफारिसमा ‌उपचार शुरु गरे यता उनमा सकारात्मक सुधार देखिन थालेको छ। हाल उनी कहाँ बस्नेखाने भन्ने कुनै टुङ्गो छैन। तसर्थ, उन्लाइ केहि समयका लागि उपचार र बस्नेखाने व्यवस्था मिलाउनका लागि नेपाली समुदायबाट हामीले केहि प्रयास शुरु गरेका छौ। यस प्रयासका लागि आवश्यक खर्चको जोहो गर्न हामीले तपाइको सहयोगको अपेक्षा राखेका छौ।

तपाइको क्षमताअनुसार सहयोग गर्न चाहनुहुन्छ? भाइ उमङ्गलाइ नयाँ जीवन दिने प्रयासमा साथ दिन चाहनुहुन्छ? उन्को खुसी फर्केको र उन्ले नयाँ जीवन शुरु गरेको देख्न र सुन्न चाहनुहुन्छ?

Bringing Hope to Umang: A Community’s Call for Compassion

Everyone is born with their own destiny—some come into the world with ease, while others must endure life’s ups and downs. Human life cannot thrive without compassion and support. When a small act of help can give someone a fresh start, contributing becomes an expression of our shared humanity.

Our brother, Umang Dahal, has been struggling through a life of despair and disorientation for over three years, even in a place like America. Imagine the high hopes and dreams his parents must have had when they sent him abroad, likely with great expenses and sacrifices. And now, to see their son struggling with mental challenges—one can only imagine their pain.

Umang was a skilled and hardworking student while in Nepal. After completing his Plus Two with excellent grades from St. Xavier's College, he came to the United States for further studies. However, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, he lost his job, leading to financial difficulties. This brought on a wave of despair, leaving him disoriented. For a long time, he has been struggling with uncertainties about his meals and shelter.

We have made numerous efforts to support Umang. He has been admitted to the hospital, yet no solution seemed to bring relief. Following the guidance and recommendations of doctors in Nepal, his treatment began anew, and we’re finally seeing signs of positive change. However, he currently has no stable place to stay. Therefore, we have started an initiative within the Nepali community to arrange temporary housing and care for him, and we’re reaching out to gather the necessary funds.
