Robbie and Logan

I hope this message finds you well. We come together as a club, not only as coaches, parents and players but as a family, during both triumphs and trials. It is with a heavy heart that we reach out to you today to invite you to participate in support that aims to provide support and hope for one of our own.

As many of you are aware, Robbie from Hurworth Albion U12’s team, along with his brother Logan, has experienced an unimaginable loss in the past months with the passing of both their mother Shelly three months ago and father. Mike who passed away unexpectedly last week was not only a cherished parent but an integral part of our Hurworth Albion community, offering his help and kindness whenever he could.

Now, the boys find themselves in the care of their remarkable cousin Caitlin, a young woman of just 19, who has devoted herself entirely to their well-being during these challenging times.

We believe in the strength of our community and its ability to come together in times of need. With this in mind, we as a club are organizing an adult 7-a-side football tournament, scheduled for the 20th of August, as a fundraising event to support Robbie, Logan, and Caitlin. The objective is not only to raise funds but also to show them that they are not alone in their journey.

Here are the details of the event:

Date: 20th August
Format: 7-a-side tournament
Contribution: Each player is encouraged to donate £20 or any amount they can afford
We encourage you to participate by forming a team or by rallying your players' parents to put together a team. If forming a team isn't feasible, we kindly request your support in collecting donations via a whip-around or simply going onto the GofundMe page on Facebook.

We invite everyone from Hurworth and beyond to come along in support of the boys, on the day the cafe will be open to raise money for the cause.
Robbie needs our support more than ever, and this event presents an opportunity for us to demonstrate the strength of our unity. As coaches, you play an essential role in shaping the character and resilience of our young athletes. Your participation and encouragement will mean the world to Robbie and his family.

Let's come together and show Robbie and Logan that they are not alone on this journey. Please reach out to us for any further information, and let's make this event a success for the ones who truly need it.

Thank you for being a part of the Hurworth Albion family.

Sincerely,

Kelvin Russell
