The federal government of Ethiopian military and SNNPR security forces brutally massacred unarmed peaceful protesters of Wolayta since August 9, 2020. Scores of children, woman and youth killed in-front of their doors by live ammunition fired from the troops.
We, the people of Wolayta in the diaspora closely watching all the gruesome clips and pictures in the past four days. Some of you protested in your local cities of the United States, Canada, Europe, South Africa and Australia. Others took social media to show their solidarity with the people of Wolayta.
However, compared to those who paid the ultimate price by their lives at the towns of Soddo, Boditi and other locations of Wolayta, what we have done from our comfort zones were so insignificant.
Let's show our recognition to the martyrs of Wolayta by our monetary contributions (Shocca) which 100% of the funds to be delivered to the families of the deceased.
We also invite all Ethiopians to partake in this humanitarian fund raising event taking into consideration that Wolayta is part and parcel of our motherland, Ethiopia.
