Help Save Chichi
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Joanne. I rescused/ adpoted Chichi in Feb this year (2022). Before that, she was not having the best life as a cat. She is 13, was not desexed and no vaccinated, spent most her time locked in a guest bathroom with no direct sun light and never had wet food in the past 12 years before my care.
She stopped eating 2 Saturdays ago, I took her to the vet on the following monday (3. days of not eating), and the vet told me she was in critical condition. She weighed only 2.3 kg due to her lack of nutrients for the past 12 years. We did an ultrasound and confirmed despite her small and boney body; her gut was very bloated. She was suffering for years of very severe uterus and ovaries infections as she was not vaccinated and desexed. And due to years of the condition being neglected, her infections had caused her uterus to be completely deformed, pushing her other organs and hence she was in a lot of pain for years, but she was tolerating it. Until she couldn't, and that's why she couldn't eat.
The surgery only had about a 30% survival rate, and this strong fight pulled it through, 1st-night post-surgery only had a 50% survival rate, and she pulled through it again! This Wednesday 24/8, she has finally removed all the stitches, her feeding tube and finished all her medications. We did our last blood test and all her red blood cells and protein level have significantly shown improvement.
I promised Chi as long as she kept fighting, I would keep fighting along side her. She is recovering very well, even the vets and the ICU that looked after her for a week were very impressed and surprised with how much she was not ready to give up! Despite her previous owners wanting me to put her down to stop the bills, I have already paid all the medical bills upfront to save her life. It really is very heavy for me, if you would like to contribute to supporting my decision to save Chi, it would really help me out. Thank you so much!!
