Help Anna Breathe Easy

Donation protected
Help us raise money for our beloved mother. She was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension in 2007 at the age of 34. At the time of being diagnosed, the Doctor gave her no more than 3 months to live. Can you imagine being a mother of 3, whom at the time were all under the age of 18 ,and being told you will have, at most, 3 months to live and now you need to leave the rest of your children's future in someone else's hands? Luckily, our mother was able to surpass the Doctor's expectations but now her illness has progressed and is in great need of a double lung transplant. Before we move on with her story, let us explain the basics of this illness.

Pulmonary Hypertension is a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in your lungs and the right side of your heart. This makes it harder for blood to flow through your lungs, and raises pressure within your lungs' arteries. With this being said, breathing becomes harder and the heart becomes weaker from trying to keep up with the lungs. Our mother can no longer enjoy the things she loves most, but not only that, simply walking has become harder for her day by day. Going to work has become her daily mission just so she can maintain her medical insurance, which provides the medication that is keeping her alive and at some point kept her stable. Her illness has now progressed and if this transplant is not done in a timely matter, her heart will not be able to keep up. She has joined the transplant list and we are hoping for a miracle. If this miracle comes through, she will need about 6-12 months of full recovery, meaning she can not work. She has worked for a county for almost 10 years now and found out she does not qualify for SSI or SSDI.

This is why we come to you now and ask to please help our mother "breathe easy" after her transplant by having one less thing to worry about. Every penny counts. She has worked hard her whole entire life, so to hear she does not qualify for an income after her transplant has taken a toll on her.  Our mother is our rock! To have her going through these rough years after raising us alone our whole lives, and battling many other hardships, has us heartbroken. The money would help with her aftercare, strict nutrition guidelines, and medication she will need to follow. We will be thankful to you all for anything you can do to help make this process more hopeful for her. After all, hope is all we have at the end of the day. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read her story.
