help my father
Donation protected
My father is a great man he is a father of three and a grandfather of two .He served six years in Vietnam
The last week of august my dad was taken to the hospital due to fever, confusion, and nausea, and was really weak and didn’t have the strength to get out of bed . His health has since deteriorated. He was not very responsive and his upper body went through a state of paralysis causing him to be put on life support. Some of the paralysis has gone away, his left arm remains paralyzed and remains unable to breathe on his own. After 2 weeks of not knowing what was going on we finally got answers . My dad has a very serious case of West Nile Virus which effected his spinal cord. The nerves in his left arm are severely damaged causing him to not be able to use his diaphragm to breathe. We are still hopeful that he will fight through and somehow regain use of his arm and diaphragm so he does not have to be on a ventilator for the remainder of his life. However the outlook is not good.
In addition to updating people who have been praying. I also want to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to use mosquito repellent anytime you go outside even if you are only out there for a short time. This case is serious and extremely rare, it is still a possibility especially in the elderly and in children. My dad didn’t believe that mosquitos bit him so he didn’t use bug repellant and now he’s paying dearly for it.
Because of a mosquito, my father will not be able to walk my sister down the aisle at her Wedding or play with his grandkids present and future. Because of a mosquito my father may be bedridden for the rest of his life. It's crazy that a bug so small can cause so much pain. Please protect yourselves, life can change in an instant.
The support and concern from family and friends have been overwhelming. My family is very moved and appreciative. Many people have asked how they can help. Along with love and prayers, financial support is the best way to help the my dad right now. He is on medicare they only pay a little portion and we have to pay the rest if we don’t have it they will not let him stay in the hospital
I ask you to consider a donation at this very difficult time. Your kindness and generosity are appreciated.
