Memorial Bench for Garry Vaughan
Following the sudden loss of our friend Garry Vaughan in October 2020, we have all struggled in our own ways to deal with his passing. He left a lasting impression on all he met, achieving so much and ensuring he lived life to the full in whatever he did.
In order to pay tribute and honour Garry, club member Dean Johnston is aiming to raise funds for a memorial bench for Garry by attempting to run, walk and crawl the total elevation of Mount Everest in one go on Saturday 26 June.
To put that into context, Dean will be using a hill in Bryn Bettws that is 1.1km long with an average gradient of 14% and elevation of 154m. He will be completing 58 laps of the hill covering a total distance of 130km with a total elevation of 8849m!!!!
