Gaining English language skills is the key to a better future for the young locals in the villages around Siem Reap. Because tourism is the main industry in Siem Reap, and indeed in much of the country, being able to speak even basic English, gives young people the opportunity to get jobs and help support their families.

Learning to speak and at least read English also opens up a world of further education for these future citizens of Cambodia.

Look how many kids here are interested in learning English. Many of them may not understand the importance of what they're learning, but nevertheless the importance is massive! The impact that this will have on the rest of their life and on the lives around them is immeasurable.

There are so many kids, in fact, that some of them aren't able to participate. The school is having to turn kids away because of a lack of space. As you can see in the video, they're practically sitting on top of each other just to be able to fit in the classroom. It's a great problem to have, but it's also one that needs to be solved. It's wonderful that these kids are so interested in learning.

Thanks to the generosity of our first 11 donors we have already raised over $1000. This money has been transferred from the crowdfunding bank account to Seiyon, the Cambodian founder and teacher at The Village School. Seiyon has used this money to buy a plot of land 100m long by 25 metres wide.

All further donations will go toward preparing the property for construction, and the actual construction of the new classrooms. The buildings are estimated to cost around $8000 each, and they will start with two of them.

With a big enough number of small donations, we can raise this money and help Seiyon build a new school in Srah Srang village so that they can continue to provide free English courses for these kids. Would you consider investing $10, $25, or $100 in the futures of these children so that they can be successful? Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!
