Men’s Mental Health
Donation protected
After losing my step dad to suicide in October and seeing the lack of mental Health help from local services, (even after numerous suicides attempts), when he reached out for help, I wanted to do all I can so that other men can receive help when they need it most, and another family doesn’t have to face this gruelling pain and grief, that I am desperately trying to pretend isn’t real.
From following Nine4Norah’s charity page I saw a post that Ross ( the charities founder) was also setting up a men’s mental health charity at the start of this year.
The new charity is called #DadsandLads and is aimed to help men and dad’s who are suffering mentally by organising days out as a group, so that no man has to feel alone, can gain friends and speak openly ( if they would like to), with a group of other men who are all there for the same reason. The group organise days out to fit their interests for example, golf etc.
As soon as I saw this, I emailed Ross as I really wanted to help!
I knew this is what was needed, it’s a fantastic idea and I felt that if this charity was around sooner, I could of taken my step dad to one of these days out, and maybe he wouldn’t of felt so alone or had people out side of family to talk to, to see he wasn’t the only man struggling and not feel like a ‘burden’ to me, which he said he did.
Maybe he would still be here?
Each donation gives you a chance to win a range of prizes ( unless you wish to donate without a ticket purchase), with donations kindly given from local Kent businesses, to help raise funds to a much needed cause - Which I am so truly grateful for all of your support!
Tickets will be £2 each or 6 for £10.
ALL of the money raised will be going to help #DadsandLads, to help men who are struggling and hopefully save a life that is so needed in this world!!
This fundraiser is in memory of my amazing step dad, who took his own life in October by setting himself on fire.
I still refuse to believe the truth that he is not here because it really is too much to bare. He was so loved and someone to look up to for so many and I wish he could of seen his true worth.
I couldn't save him, and I pray to god for one more minuet to try every day
So I am hoping I can raise money, with your help, to save another.
