Help Cory Beaver!

Donation protected
Sept 8th update: Off the ventilator and awake but remains in the ICU. A reminder that his skull flap will stay off for 3-6 months so he is at risk for injury and infection. His "half hawk" is a new hair style even for Cory! There's a plan to help clear his lungs a bit more but he is still not able to eat or drink. All therapies are working with him through the day and this is very tiring for him. He seems aware of our parents which is a start. Please, continue with no visitors at this time. He has much work with rehab to do and needs to conserve his energy. Baby steps but progress.

Sept 6th update: Some medical tests were completed in the last few days. We hope to have news to share soon. We will update publicly on social media when there is something to update. Until then, assume no news is actually good news! We are pausing donations at this time as we are made aware some other local fundraisers are in the works. We continue to appreciate the support!

On August 28th, Cory Beaver drove to work as a Heavy Machinery Operator in New Berlin. Shortly after he arrived, his coworkers noticed he wasn't acting right and called 911. Sadly, he suffered a massive stroke which will cause permanent brain damage. Unfortunately, as it was a new union job, he did not quite meet the required hours yet for medical insurance and medical bills will soon pile up. He is receiving excellent care at a top hospital nearby.

Sept 3rd update: It was an ischemic stroke to the left MCA. On Wednesday August 30th he needed an emergent craniectomy which is where they remove part of the skull to allow for increased pressure to be released. He remains intubated as he spiked fevers with a possible pneumonia but those are stabilizing. He will need an IVC filter soon for a new blood clot in his leg as well.

As he was uninsured at the time of the incident, his bills will now fall on our parents who are retired and on a fixed income. He is only 46 years old and has a long road of rehab ahead.
Any amount of money at this time will be used to pay bills currently due. Any excess will go into a fund to chip away at the high cost of his medical care as he remains in the ICU.

Cory loves his dog Bessie. She is his child. He loves grilling and sitting around the fire pit. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and is an avid dart ball and bags player.

His family does not have access to his phone or his social media at this time. His parents Mike and Nancy Beaver and his sister Amy Talaga will be publicly updating on facebook about his condition. Mike and Nancy Beaver will take direct donations as well. You can contact them for details.

We appreciate any little amount. Thank you.
