Help me with my living costs and to keep my home
Hey, I'm Nicholas. I'm a 24 y/o bi student.
My circumstances have changed dramatically and I'm barely able to get by as a result. I was recently hospitalised after taking an overdose due to severe depression and I'm in no position to leave the house most of the time–partly because I am due for surgery for SOBOE –let alone work for the coming months.
The course department for my undergraduate degree knows about my situation, but having already been awarded hardship funding in December last year (this was after my housemates and me had to move out because of consistent issues with our landlord and we didn't get our deposit back), there's nothing they can really do to support me over the summer months.
I've applied for PIP (government benefit) and various grants for disabled students, as well as receiving a university maintenance loan from late-September onwards. But unfortunately, with both the grants and PIP, I'm essentially on a waiting list for around 4 months until my application is processed or the charities hold their meetings to decide who they are able to award some of their fund to.
I'm currently supporting myself on about £10 a week and my family are able to help out in small amounts when bills come in but they aren't in a position to do this regularly or for much longer. I'm trying to raise around £1200 to help me pay for my rent, medication, bills and food for the coming months to keep myself above ground and with a home while the circumstances regarding my health are at their worst.
Thank you so much for any support that you're able to give, whether through sharing this or donating!
