On Sunday May 31st, the residents of Long Beach came together for a peaceful protest against police brutality and social injustice within our city. We here at The Daily Diddi felt accountability for some of the looting and destruction to the city due to the flyer going viral on our page allowing opportunist groups to invade Long Beach. Immediately we made this fundraiser out of sheer love for the community, friends, family, and the small businesses who we help support on a daily basis. Over the past few days we have talked to local business owners (like Clay Wood of Clay on First, Senay Kenfe of Play Nice) and community members/leaders from all backgrounds and ages having dialogue on social media opening every inbox, answering every call. We will be having a meeting going into detail about how we will be using the fund and have agreed to open a Long Beach Community Center!!! Providing a safe space for the youth, artists and entrepreneurs where they can gain skills/trade and income who will then go out into the community and shape the local culture of Long Beach. A cornerstone of the community that will help build other businesses owned and operated by locals eventually creating a sustainable local economy keeping Long Beach Dollars in Long Beach. We want to make sure this fund has a lasting effect on this city and not just band-aid on these hard times. Please contact us on Instagram @TheDailyDiddi Thank you for all the support!
