In Memory of Laura - Laurentian Elem. School
This picture is everything. Those dimples. These were some of your happiest times. Other than your family life with Jody and Abby, teaching was your biggest pride and joy, and even after everything, your final wish was to mark your passing as another opportunity to continue to improve the education and well-being of children at school.
RIP Laura-Marie Leboeuf. My big sister, mine and Ally’s protector, my inspiration to go to university, and our parents first baby girl.
Every single student you ever had was so incredibly lucky to have you as their teacher. You were a shining star in every team you worked with, and left a legacy at our school board that I will forever be trying to live up to. Your shyness was often misinterpreted, when all the while you saw the best in people, and were so incredibly sentimental and heartfelt.
Laura’s wish, in lieu of flowers, was for donations to be made to Laurentian Elementary School (LES).
LES is a tight-knit, community school, with over 300 students from pre-K to grade 6, in Lachute, an area of the Argenteuil region with less economic and social resources for kids.
Although Laura never completed a full year of teaching, in between treatments, while her post was there, she loved LES because I loved LES. Her Abby is there, and so are many friends that have become extended family.
