Sky dive for Andy’s man club charity
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Elly and i’m 16 years-old, currently a student at TGGS finishing my GCSE’s.
I’ve been given an amazing opportunity to travel to Borneo, in South-East Malaysia, for a 3 week trip with school next August.
The trip includes going into the depths of the Borneo rainforests whilst offering a perfect balance of physical challenges, jungle experience, wildlife spotting and beach relaxation. I will be hiking deep into the rainforest with a small group and spending the night in hammocks under the jungle canopy. I will get the opportunity to explore the Kinabatangan River and to meet Orangutans at Sepilok. There will be many other experiences such as water rafting, zip-lining and a conservation project.
The trip to Borneo in total costs just under £4000. Im currently working every weekend, babysitting and tutoring younger years, as I’m hoping to raise as much as possible.
I’ll be raising money by doing a sky-dive in July. This has always been on my bucket list and I think it will be a great way to raise money whilst having fun. A small portion of the money will go towards funding my trip, with the remaining proceeds going towards Andy’s man club.
After experiencing the loss of my Dad to suicide in June 2022, donating to a suicide prevention charity not only honours his memory, but also contributes to a cause that aims to save lives and prevent other families from injuring similar pain. Andy’s man club do a great job at providing men with a safe space where they feel comfortable to open up and talk about their experiences in a room free of judgement. On average, 1 man every 2 hours takes his life in the UK. It is often said to be a factor that men don’t talk. My Dads suicide was extremely upsetting, tragic and unexpected. I really miss him and it would mean the absolute world to me to be able to support this charity, preventing others experiencing the heartache that suicide leaves behind.
I appreciate any contributions that you are able to make. Thank you for taking the time to read my page
