Kidney Removal Surgery & Recovery

Hi everyone,

My name is Camille and I am having my left kidney removed on 12/12/23. When I was 12 years old, I got hit out of a cross walk in SF by a woman running the stop sign in a green Buick Skylark w/a chrome bumper. I went to the ER and had my left side of my body X-Rayed and a brain scan…I suffered internal injuries mainly a damaged left kidney. I didn’t find out until 5 years later when I started having kidney issues at 17. The doctor decided to save it and then I ended up having 2 more surgeries in my 20s to repair it. My team didn’t want to remove it because of my age.

Fast forward 28 years later and now it needs to be removed because it’s poisoning my body. No I won’t be getting a donor and no I’m not on dialysis. My recovery time is supposed to be 6-8 weeks long. Financial assistance from you all will help me to get through the holidays and have a stress free recovery.
