Supplies for Striking UAW Members

We’re fundraising to cover the cost of supplies for our UAW siblings on strike at Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis, as well as several other UAW strikes happening right now!

Background on the strike: Over 30,000 UAW members are currently on strike against the Big Three automakers, in a historic effort to reverse decades of concessions. The Big Three have collectively made a quarter trillion dollars in profit over the past 10 years, and we are fighting for our fair share of the wealth we create. This strike is growing by the week, and some workers have been on the picket line for over one month. As UAW President Shawn Fain has made clear, this is a strike to set the standard for the entire working class.

Who we are: UAWD Mutual Aid Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization that formed as the sister organization to Unite All Workers for Democracy (UAWD). UAWD is a grassroots movement of UAW members united in the common goal of creating a more democratic and accountable union. How we are using the funds: UAWD volunteers are working closely with workers across multiple locals to determine needs on the ground. Funds will be used exclusively to purchase supplies that benefit the collective strike effort, not individuals. Examples include: burn barrels, firewood, diapers, formula, tents, gloves. A team of volunteer UAW members, including striking workers, is evaluating these requests on a first-come, first-serve basis, using the criteria here. What we're doing with any leftover funds: We are capping this fundraiser at a dollar amount that is tied to the number of requests we have received, so we are not left with significant leftover funds. However, any leftover funds in this GoFundMe account will be set aside by UAWD Mutual Aid Fund exclusively for the purpose of supporting future UAW workers on strike.

Transparency: At the conclusion of the strike, we will make gofundme records, bank records, receipts, and evidence of goods distribution available to UAW members, upon request.
