Help Send an Abuse Survivor to Heal

Please help a sexual abuse survivor find the pathway to heal.
I am David O'Regan the Worcester-Boston Massachusetts SNAP Director. (Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priest) As a victim of childhood clergy sexual abuse I know firsthand the healing power of being a beneficiary of funding to attend SNAP Annual Summer Conference. In 2004 I was given that gift from Winchester VOTF to attend that year’s conference in Denver, Colorado. I was at the absolute lowest point in my life, being triggered to my childhood abuse by the “Boston Clergy Sex Scandal”. The memories of my abuse, which I had tried my entire life to block out, came flooding into my mind, crippling me with depression. At fifty two years of age I became dysfunctional. I was having trouble attending work and trouble being a husband to my wife and a father to my children. Finding SNAP and attending the summer conference was a life changing experience for me, helping put me on a path to heal from the deep wounds of my childhood sexual abuse. I transitioned from suicidal thoughts to getting my life back together again, becoming a SNAP Leader and holding meetings in Worcester, Ma in 2011 and a year later starting a Boston group.
That is why I’m so committed to helping other survivors, who are in need of healing, experience the SNAP Summer Conference. SNAP helped put me on a pathway to healing, and it is my desire to help other hurting survivors find that path.
This year I have six Boston area SNAP members who have come forward needing financial assistance to attend the conference that will be held July 31 - Aug 2 in Washington, DC. It is my hope that no one will be disappointed.
All funds collected will be used to send Worcester-Boston SNAP members to the SNAP Annual Conference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
