Help us Bring Immigrant Children to Summer Camp
Tax deductible
Our goal is to raise $9,000 per week to bring in up to 18 children and subsidize their tuition, transportation, and meals. We already have a full waiting list AND a few generous matching grant offers...can you donate today to send children to summer camp all summer long? Every dollar you contribute will be doubled.
Many of our immigrant and low-income neighbors have a huge anxiety in the summer: Can you imagine being a parent who needs to work all summer to support their family but cannot afford to send their child to daycare or summer camp, and instead needs to leave them in the care of an 11-year old sibling or an uncertain situation. There are many such families in our community.
Seed Song Center has always gone out of its way to welcome a high percentage of these families into our camp on scholarship. This program may top the list of those that speak directly to our hearts and to our mission, summed up as Beloved Regeneration.
As part of Seed Song’s mission to make our produce and programs available to ALL regardless of means, we are raising money for the camper scholarship fund: a fund that enables us to offer this fun and formative summer experience of farm, friends, and nature to a maximum number of immigrant and low-income families.
Through collaboration with a local immigrant support organization, many families have been identified as having the critical need for a camp program in order for the parent(s) to continue working.
Often these families are in need of scholarship funds, transportation, and translation.
We will use the funds towards scholarships for these children to attend, as well as to make our camp more accessible by providing services that ease those above barriers for these families, including:
1. transportation
2. providing meals
3. communication
Contributing any amount will help us provide these children with a fulfilling and enriching summer camp experience.
