‘UBA SEO - NISENAN ARTS AND CULTURE

Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Tribe and California Heritage: Indigenous Research Project invite the community to join us for the grand opening!

‘UBA SEO is our first brick-and-mortar venture in downtown Nevada City, where we will feature gallery exhibits, retail, and workshop space. It is our desire to bring authentic Native American art and education to our community while focusing on Native California artists. We are excited to invite the public in for this year's Visibility Through Art : Destruction of the Land | Destruction of the People.

Help us celebrate this landmark event! The grand opening will be Saturday, July 10th 6-9pm, with accompanying art reception. We will feature conversations with Tribal Spokesperson and CHIRP Executive Director Shelly Covert, Art Curator Mira Clark, this year's artist group as well as appetizers and wine.

This fundraiser will allow us to keep the grand opening, as well as the run of the exhibit, free of charge. This space will bring ongoing visibility to the Tribe and give CHIRP the downtown platform it needs to continue being steadfast in its mission to Preserve, Protect and Perpetuate Nisenan Culture.

‘UBA SEO is another amazing step toward raising the visibility of the Nevada City Rancheria and our continued fight to have our federal recognition restored. Visibility Through Art is an annual CHIRP program and this year's exhibit, Destruction of the Land | Destruction of the People, will run through August 29, 2021.
