Misty’s Fight Against Breast Cancer

My name is Nicholas Foster and wife Misty and our family got some unexpected news recently. We have two amazing children: Bradley & Bri'anna. We reside in Madisonville, KY. Firm believers in Jesus, and attend an amazing church.

Standing firm in our faith during this time, is going to be what gets us through this. As well as having the support of our family, parents, church family and community of believers; as well so many others.

Let us start by filling you in on the time line; the start of our journey: September 8, 2023 Misty went in for a normal routine mammogram. She was not expecting the next thing to hear: YOU HAVE A MASS THAT NEED FURTHER IMAGING! She was then scheduled for an ultrasound, it was just a week out from that appointment, but it felt like months.

That ultrasound confirmed the mass, and Misty spoke right then to the radiologist. He told her over the phone that she would need to have additional testing, which would require a biopsy, and that she would need to talk to my provider. He would send the results over to her. She wasn’t expected this news and it was a huge blow. She spoke to my provider, and we called immediately and got me in with the soonest appointment to get the biopsy. That was still a few weeks from that date. It all felt like it was taking months.

October 16, 2023: biopsy date. We went in with a peace. JESUS gave us this peace prior to this appointment. The mass was still there. The biopsy went well. we were was in and out within a few hours. Minimal pain, bruising was the worst....well other than the emotions. See satan had tried to steal my peace that we had.

October 19, 2023: Results came in. It showed that Misty has, Invasive Mammary Carcinoma. Breast Cancer in the duct. Progesterone and Estrogen negative, still waiting on the Her2 at the time of the posting of this.

We see Oncology/Rad Oncology/Surgeon November 10, 2023. Things will move quickly from them. Things will move quickly, and we will know more after that date. Will update everyone so they can stand in agreement and pray specifically.

We know that God will supply all our needs according to his riches in glory but we have been asked by numerous people how they can help. We know that this process will take time away from our jobs so pray about what you can do to help us during this season. We do ask for your prayers above all because we know that prayer can change things!
