UCHC O'Neill Clinic Ceiling Collapse

Dear Community Members,

We are writing with a heavy heart to share the news of a recent incident that occurred at our newly opened O'Neill Clinic located in South Los Angeles. Over the weekend, a section of the ceiling in the building collapsed causing significant damage to the clinic space. This incident was the result of extremely rainy weather that Southern California has been experiencing, which caused the ceiling to weaken and collapse. Additionally, a main waterline breakage resulted in more severe damage, flooding the clinic and causing further destruction to medical equipment and supplies.

We are incredibly grateful that no one was hurt during this incident, but now we face a difficult situation. The cost of repairing the ceiling and replacing the damaged equipment is significant, and we simply do not have the resources to cover it ourselves.

This is where we are turning to you, our community, for help. Disaster relief support is needed as soon as possible to avoid further disruption to critical health services that many of our residents are relying on. Universal Community Health Center has been serving the South Los Angeles area for many years, providing quality medical care to those who need it most, regardless of their ability to pay. We are a nonprofit organization, and every dollar we receive goes directly to helping our patients.

We are asking for your support in helping us repair the damage caused by the ceiling collapse and cover the costs associated with items not covered in our insurance policy.
