Kourage for Kaisonn

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Diana Gopp, I am setting this go fund me up for my daughter Kaitlin & my grandson Kaisonn. My grandson was diagnosed at the age of 2 months with MPS-1 Hurler Syndrome and had a bone marrow transplant at the age of 4 months, which required him to stay in hospital for a total of 5 months. MPS-1 Hurler Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that doesn’t have enough enzyme molecules to help break down the sugar molecules in his body, which causes a severe number of issues in the muscles, tissues, organs, and bones. This disorder causes physical and mental delays, which in turn causes him to have multiple surgeries in his lifetime and several different doctor’s appointments.

The reasoning for his go fund me is Kaisonn will be having Major Hip Surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital January 17th and the second surgery 6 weeks later on February 22nd which will require him to be in the hospital mandatory 3 days and 4-10 days in the Ronald McDonald house including his post-op appointment while down there for each surgery. Kaitlin will need all the help that she can receive as she will need to take an extensive amount of time off work to ensure she is able to provide him the proper care she will need to give to him, as she will be readjusting everything to fit his daily needs.

She will need help with bills, travel, food for the time Kaisonn and her will be down in Cincinnati, and she will need to purchase Kaisonn a BEAN BAG LOUNGE for the 12 weeks that he will be laid up.

This surgery consists of Kaisonn being completely and physically incapable of moving, walking, lying almost flat, as well as not being able to leave the house for the full 12 weeks.

He will be in a full body cast from his chest down to his ankles.

All of this will stop him from attending school, and in home for a total of 3 months or longer depending on his recovering process.

After the surgeries are finished and his recovery allows him to be mobile, he will be required to attend physical therapy to learn how to move his hips and learn how to properly walk again.

6 months to a year later he will have to go back to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for another surgery to remove all the plates that were placed from the hip surgery, and he will then need to have what is called Achilles Lengthening surgery as he walks on his toes.

We are asking for all the prayers we can get. If you are unable to donate, please just share this post and continue to lift him up in prayer. Anything will be greatly appreciated!
