Hello, my name is Sue, and I am reaching out to you on behalf of a dedicated team of volunteers who are committed to caring for the dogs and puppies on what we affectionately call the "Lonely Road." Our volunteers have hearts as large as their commitment, often spending their own money to ensure these dogs are well-fed, hydrated, and receive necessary medical attention. However, we need your help to continue this vital work.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide these stray dogs with the care they deserve. We focus on feeding, hydrating, and providing medical treatments, such as Bravecto for ticks, fleas, and heartworm. When possible, we also spay or neuter the dogs to control the population responsibly. Capturing and caring for these dogs ensures they lead healthier lives and reduces the number of strays in the area.

How You Can Help

We rely heavily on donations to continue our work and would greatly appreciate any support you can provide. Below is a list of items we need and their costs, both in pesos and Canadian dollars, to give you an idea of the expenses involved:

Essential Items Needed

Food:

Adult Dog Food & Puppy Food:

These are essential to keeping the dogs nourished.

Basic Ingredients:

Plain White Rice, Hotdogs, Vegetables

These items supplement the dogs' diets and are always in demand.

Tick and Flea Medication:

Bravecto:

Cost: 525 pesos ($38 CAD)

This medication is crucial for protecting dogs from Heartworm, Ticks and fleas

Tick and Flea Spray:

Suitable for puppies and lasts about a week, helping to keep them healthy.

Water:

In Mexico, water needs to be purchased.

Cost: 13-17 pesos ($1.30 CAD) per bottle

We typically use about 5 x 20-gallon water containers per visit, costing approximately $45 CAD per week to keep the dogs hydrated.
