Udo & Kathy stay afloat during this tough time
Donation protected
Hey everyone,
I want to take a moment to talk to you about some really amazing people who could use some help.
Most of you know Udo and his partner Kathy (Kat).
What a lot of people probably don't realize is AW operates with a very slim profit margin and more often than not that profit is folded back into the game. Udo has worked tirelessly to see the community of AW grow and we saw it happening when we hit record numbers before the pandemic, but like so many things in our lives the pandemic changed all that for the worse. One of the often overlooked aspects for AW to build its success again is his partner Kathy who has been incredibly supportive and wanting to see Udo (and thusly AW) achieve full potential.
Udo's Patreon is a blessing and he's so grateful for those of you that help by your monthly Patreon donations. Unfortunately for them to stay afloat it has meant relying on Kathy's income a great deal, a struggle that most of us are all too familiar with. One income cannot support a household.
Almost two months ago Kat suffered a serious cPTSD attack that has caused long term damage to her central nervous system and cannot return to work in the near future. They are looking at disability avenues but that is going to take at least a couple years and there is a need now.
Unfortunately her job is too new for her to qualify for FMLA/OFLA and they received word recently that her injury occured TWO WEEKS short of being able to qualify for disability from her work. It's been one thing after another. Our mental healthcare system is fucked and support options for those in times of need like this is so poor.
These people have been incredibly supportive to their friends and the community around them and they could really use your help right now. Kathy has been by my side and supported me through some of the toughest times of my life and she (and Udo) could use some support now, more than ever.
Udo, Kathy, and their sweet doggo Jasper could use some financial support while they try to figure things out. It will take some time to get finances adjusted and figure out income flow etc. I'd like for them to have a bit of time to breathe.
Please, every dollar and share helps. Thank you all.
