Hello friends and family of the Watsons,
On November 17th, Salome, their beautiful two-year old daughter was unexpectedly diagnosed with a very rare form of leukemia. It requires intense chemotherapy and very specialized care. Since her diagnosis, they have been forced to make a lot of difficult decisions about both their present and future. While there is still a long and difficult road ahead of them, they have taken the first step and temporarily relocated to Memphis, TN where Salome will receive the necessary treatment and care at St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
They expect to remain in Memphis for 6-9 months while Salome receives treatment. For the time being, their three oldest daughters will remain in Tulsa and live at home with extended family. Their worlds have gotten very small since this began and all of their energy is focused on two things : holding hope as they fight this disease at St. Jude with Salome, and taking care of their three eldest daughters, who have stayed behind. That's it.
They are incredibly thankful for the outpouring of care and support they have received. Their family is grateful for every person who has reached out (even if they haven't been able to respond). They are thankful for every candle that is lit, every prayer that is offered, all of the love and the light that you send their way. They believe that love can travel any distance and the support of your love is carrying them through some very dark days.
Some practical ways you can support the Watsons:
Stay up to date with Salome's care:
Visit Salome's Caring Bridge site to follow their journey as a family. They have been flooded with support and many of you have lovingly asked for updates or sought ways you can help. They aren't always able to respond to texts or emails, but they will post updates and keep everyone informed there.
Letters and cards:
They would LOVE to hear from you! You can write to them at:

Want to send something, too? They have a wish list!
Financial Support:
They are so grateful to be at St. Jude, where the care for Salome is completely free.
This GoFundMe is primarily for the needed resources to move their family to Memphis for the duration of Salome's treatment (approximately 6-9 months). The housing St. Jude provides its patient's families can only accommodate four people, so the Watsons will be renting a home in Memphis in order to weather this storm together. Our goal is to cover their housing/utility expenses in Memphis for the next 6-9 months.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
