UERGENT Help for Ibrahim Salem family in Gaza!
Donation protected
I am the released prisoner Ibrahim Salem, I have a family of 5, me, my wife, my children Waseem, 4 years old, Nana, 8 years old, and Fatima, 11 years old. After October 7, our lives were turned upside down because of the war on Gaza. Displacement was not an option for my family. We would move to my grandmother's house when the bombing intensified. The war intensified and every time my children would cry hysterically from the continuous bombing and explosions. A few days later, the bombing began to approach us, as our neighbors' house was bombed and shrapnel entered our house while we were inside.
On Friday at 10:30 am, our house was suddenly bombed and collapsed on our heads, me, my wife, my children, and my brothers. Our warm home, our memories, and the surrounding areas of the neighborhood were erased. Within a few minutes, everything was lost. The house disappeared in the blink of an eye. “Our home, our last safe haven to return to, was burned. We did not deserve this: we love life. My heart aches for everything we have been through. My brothers Khalil, Mohammed and Laith were martyred, as were my sister Ahlam and her children Adam and Rami. My wife, my children, my other sister and my father were seriously injured and were taken to Kamal Adwan Hospital

After 5 days of being trapped inside the hospital with my injured family members, where there were many soldiers deployed inside, I was not allowed to go down to the basement or look out the window. But I saw them coming down the stairs. There were many tanks that could have completely destroyed the hospital and killed us all. Suddenly, one of them entered the kitchen where I was hiding with my daughter Fatima and ordered us to go down and take me with them.

After my children were released from the hospital and I was taken prisoner and the house we lived in was bombed, my wife and children moved to live in a school with my father and sister in conditions that were not suitable for us because they had not recovered well from the injuries we sustained during the bombing, but they had to endure the pain of losing me and not knowing the conditions I was living in prison.
With the continuous bombing, lack of water, food and electricity and frequent communications outages, they also had to endure the loss of a part of our family and the inability to communicate. Communication inside Gaza, not to mention not knowing any news about me while I was inside Sde Teiman prison. The bombing also caught up with them in the area they fled to, which was said to be safe, and they were not spared from the random bombing, incendiary bombs and explosive devices while they were inside the school, where they still spend the night hugging their mother in a state of panic, fear and crying with every terrifying sound. There is no safe place in Gaza, and we can be bombed at any time and in any place throughout the Strip.
Some basic daily things are constantly changing, like getting water to us, showering, food, water, staying inside without going out, and of course the sounds of warplanes and falling bombs.
No normal person can bear what we are going through; it is impossible.
I was released on 1-8-2024 and I now live away from my family in the southern Gaza Strip, in a tent in Mawasi Khan Younis, my biggest fear is our future, where will we live, where will my children study and grow up? There is nothing left in Gaza; all means of livelihood have been destroyed. Our future has become uncertain and dark, and there are no signs of security. Our biggest dream was a simple life living in peace with my family.

If this war ends, we must resume our lives. In Gaza or better yet outside where we can find safety and peace. In Gaza, we no longer have a place to live, and the reconstruction process will take years and huge amounts of money. Outside Gaza, we need money to leave and a reasonable amount to start over to rebuild our lives, aspirations and dreams somewhere, so that we can regain balance, stability and security with my parents. I would be very grateful for your contribution in donating and sharing this donation request so that we can reach as many good people as possible, and we can get a reasonable amount of money to provide my family with what they deserve.
Your donation now is the first step towards a secure future for me and my family: your contribution will support us in continuing to strengthen our next steps in life. We firmly believe in the power of community and collaborative efforts.
We realize that many of you have felt helpless in light of the ongoing crisis in Gaza. However, please do not underestimate the impact of your contributions.
We are not numbers!
We are not numbers!
We once lived in a large, beautiful house surrounded by trees, and our dreams and ambitions were limitless. The house was full of laughter, now, we have no home and nothing but a never-ending nightmare.
With your support and participation, we believe in the power of our collective efforts. Perhaps together we can find a glimmer of hope for a safer and more secure life. Stand with us as we navigate this journey, stone by stone, and hope that endures in the darkest nights. Your kindness and compassion can light the way to a brighter tomorrow.
Leaving Gaza weighs heavily on us, as does asking for your help. The crossing to Egypt costs between 5,000 and 11,000 US dollars per person (17,500 US dollars in total). This is not to mention the cost of rebuilding our lives from scratch.
In the meantime, we will face many expenses in Cairo:
-Rent and utilities: 700 US dollars per month.
- Healthcare and basic needs of food, drink, milk and vitamins for the children as well. $1,000
- Household items such as cooking utensils, blankets, pillows: Total $1,600
- Medical care for my brother who never fully recovered from the illness he admitted to having: Total $10,000
- Personal expenses such as buying new clothes and shoes (for children): Total $1,200
***Note: (If any of this seems expensive, please remember that we are a family of fourteen) I want you to know that we are not just numbers. We had big, beautiful homes, a livelihood, and a job. We had ambitions and dreams that were taken away from us. We live in a never-ending nightmare of war. Your support and cooperation will give us hope for a chance to live safely and start our lives anew.
From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank you so much for your support. Donating is the language of big hearts. Be the reason dreams come true and ignite hope in the hearts of others. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts and we wish you all the best in this beautiful life. Sending you love and hugs.
