UF to DC for March for our Lives
Donation protected
In light of the recent tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, hundreds of UF students are looking to attend the March For Our Lives in Washington D.C. on March 24th 2018. The majority of students hoping to go on this trip are those directly affected by these events. Over 500 UF students have shown a deep interest in attending, most of them being Douglas alumni and people with direct connections to the tragedy. This march will hopefully bring about monumental change in regards to gun control laws and mental health screening for gun purchases and registrations. The cost of a trip of this magnitude is extremely high and we need your help to make it happen. I personally went to Coral Glades High School which is a school 5 minutes down the road, I have several friends with family that was there at the time of the incident and I also knew one of those who passed when he was about 10 years old. This is being organized by a group of about 20 students at UF and the funds will be withdrawn and paid directly to the bus company. All surplus from this campaign will be donated directly to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas GoFundMe campaign organized by the Broward Education Foundation. This cause hits close to home and any donations would help and are going to an amazing cause. Please help us make a wave that this time the government will be unable to ignore.
