Greetings,
My name is Kelly, and I am appealing to you all today to ask for your help.

I am raising funds to help a very special woman who has dedicated her whole life to working in the community, helping our children, families and elders along the way...
Anthea, originally from Harlesden, moved to Hackney in her early 20s, and started working in Adventure Playgrounds.. She very quickly became a vital team member to staff and community- through her dedication in providing a safe space for children and young people to explore free play. Over her many years, she worked in Homerton Grove Adventure Playground; Shakespeare Walk Adventure Playground & Evergreen Adventure Playground.. but her work in the community didn't end there, often young people, children & their parents alike, greet her along her daily routine, as "Aunty Anthea"; for this is a woman who has gone above and beyond, to help anyone in any way she can, along their journey of life- whether it be offering advice, knowledge & education- to full on child care & assisting through trauma. Having experienced DV herself, Anthea has helped other women by signposting them to safety & better qualities of life.

Anthea has always been an inspiration to her family members, who over the years have always loved reasoning with her; learning cultural facts and; her passion especially of the Windrush Generation.

Anthea has always been at the forefront, speaking up against injustices & not just demanding solutions- but putting them into action, for the betterment of communities near and far.
Another passion of hers is music, Anthea, has over the years, been an active supporter of Notting Hill Carnival and Jah Observer Original Valve Sound System.. Spreading Love & Unity all around, not just in the UK but also in Europe- Often one of the first faces you would see, always donned in colourful attire, hairdo, and a great big smile. She created and encouraged positive vibes for so many.. proudly enjoying what our elders left for us to celebrate all that is Caribbean.

Now, the reason I am setting up this go fund me- Is because due to unforeseen circumstances, a few years ago Anthea became a heart patient.. Although life had to slow down for her after having her pacemaker fitted, Anthea still tried to be there for others and successfully played an important role in organising and facilitating cultural events, workshops and meetings in her local community.

In March 2024, Anthea experienced a stroke. This stroke, altered her life dramatically, as it left her paralysed along the right side of her body. Unfortunately, the 4.5hr window slot to reverse any permanent brain damage- was missed- as a result, Anthea now has permanent brain damage in over half of her brain. Anthea now relies on carers to go about her daily routine and uses a wheelchair. As you can imagine- this has dramatically changed her life and that of her daughters.
In order to give Anthea the freedom she craves, we are trying to raise money to purchase her some disability aids she so desperately needs and an electronic wheelchair, but we need your help!!

Please help improve Anthea's quality of life and give generously- Every pound helps.
Blessings to you all in advance
