My four year old niece, Cheyenne, was just diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and will begin treatment in a few days.
At 4 years old this sweet girl has gone through more than most adults.
Three months ago Cheyenne had to endure the loss of her father, Jonathan. Jonathan was a U.S. Marine who suffered from PTSD and lost his battle to it. Jonathan left behind his wife, Sheena, Cheyenne and her brother Ethan. Sheena was also a Marine and worked for Lubbock ISD as a police officer. Sheena recently had to resign from her job to recover from the heartbreak and stress of losing her husband and to be able to take care of the children.
Cheyenne, her mother and brother truly need our help! I can't possibly imagine losing such an important member of the family and three months later finding out your child has leukemia.
