Donate to send UGA's IHSA Club Equestrian Team to Zones!
This year UGA's IHSA Team will send several riders to compete both as a team and individually at IHSA's Zone 5 Championships. It will be held on April 6th, 2024 at SCAD's Ronald C. Waranch Equestrian Center in Hardeeville, South Carolina.
At Zones, each of the five regions is represented by their High-Point Team from the regular season. The High Point Team is the team that accumulated the most points throughout the year. Each team brings eight riders, one for each designated division.
Along with representing the region as a team, UGA is also sending five riders to compete individually. In order to qualify for Zones individually, a rider must first accumulate enough points to compete at Regionals, and then must place either first or second against the other top riders in their respective division(s).
While at Zones, both our team and our individual riders will have a chance to qualify for the annual IHSA National Horse Show. In order to qualify for Nationals, the team will have to be first or second overall, and our riders will have to claim first or second in their respective divisions.
Our team receives very limited funding from UGA's Club Sports Program, and operates primarily on fundraisers throughout the year. The cost of showing is covered almost entirely out-of-pocket by the individual rider.
We are so proud of our team for their hard work and dedication all season long, both in and out of the saddle! We would be so grateful for any donations that can aid us in sending our team to Zones. All money raised will go towards the cost of Zones, which includes entry fees ($70 a class), coaching, and overnight lodging in Savannah.
