Ugandan Jewish Albino Cancer Girl

We are reaching out to share the story of Karen, a young albino girl residing in Uganda, situated between the cities of Nabugoye and Namanyonyi.

Regrettably, Karen's health has recently taken a severe turn, and she has been diagnosed with skin cancer. As a consequence, she can no longer engage in outdoor activities with the other children in her village.

Karen's health requires urgent attention to ensure she can continue her studies and participate in recreational activities, such as playing soccer, alongside her peers in the village. She aspires to become a nurse, offering care and support to those in her community who are experiencing health challenges, just as she is now.

An opportunity has arisen for Karen to be transferred to the prestigious Sloan Kettering medical facility in New York, United States of America. This facility is renowned for its expertise in diagnosing and treating various types of cancer. It is crucial for Karen to undergo comprehensive tests to determine the type of cancer she is facing and the precise treatment she requires.

Throughout her stay in New York, Karen will be accompanied by her guardian, Aharon Kissa, an elder in the village who generously took her in after her parents' divorce. Aharon Kissa has been providing care and support to Karen, ensuring her well-being during these challenging times.
