Skydive for Macmillan Cancer
My name is Thirza and I’ll be doing a skydive in St Andrews on Saturday the 18th March 2023 in honour of both of my parents and my friend/bosses dad, Sandy.
Both of my parents were diagnosed with skin cancer in early 2022 within weeks of each other after mum noticing a spot that would continuously bleed on her nose and dad noticed a small lump on the side of his head. Thankfully they were surgically removed however the emotional impact that this had on both of them is something that has encouraged me to do this. Seeing both of my parents so worried about each other and seeing them have to watch each other go through the whole process was heartbreaking.
The other person that I’m doing this skydive in honour of is Sandy Fraser. Sandy was a wonderful man who was the father of my friend/boss, Craig. Craig’s family were shocked and saddened by their sudden loss within a matter of weeks, late this summer, due to an aggressive form of bile duct cancer. The family will forever be grateful and appreciative of the end of life care that was given to him at Cornhill centre, Perth.
Macmillan cancer are an amazing charity who provide services to those living with cancer whether this is emotional, practical, physical or financial support. Fundraising is essential for them as 98% of their charity is funded by voluntary donations so any contribution is greatly appreciated. Any money given will be going directly to Macmillan so that they can continue their journey with supporting those that need it.
On behalf of my family, Craig’s family and to all of those who have been affected by cancer, thank you for your donation.
